I KNOW….ROLL TIDE… BUT THERE’S SO MUCH MORE IN TUSCALOOSA IN OCTOBER!
Yes, we’re justifiably proud of our Crimson Tide Football here in Tuscaloosa, but there’s another nationally recognized event that happens in October here in town: the Kentuck Festival of the Arts. This weekend, October 17th and 18th, West Alabama is hosting over 270 folk, visionary, and contemporary artist and craftspeople presenting their work at the Nationally acclaimed folk art festival. This annual event, the 44th , has been recognized as one of the finest gatherings of its kind in the United States. Stroll through the shady park and enjoy the stunning visual art, stop for a snack and enjoy a wide variety of live musicians playing everything from Jug Bands to Bluegrass, to Zeideco.
The festival is a treat for all ages, with free hands-on art-making for children in Kentuck for Kids and throughout the park. There are also Interactive live demonstrations by expert craftspeople—basketmakers, blacksmiths, woodworkers, traditional potters, fiber and fabric artists, quilters, jewelers, and more.
This is a DON’T MISS event for families in Tuscaloosa! The Art Festival is at Kentuck Park located at Kentuck Park, 3501 5th Street, Northport, AL 35476.
