So many times I hear: " I do not like agents", "My agent did not do a good job", etc.
Well I am here to ask you a hard question. Did you interview more than one agent for the job, or did you just call the agent on the sign? If your answer is the sign... then you may need to reconsider that strategy on your next move. In Alabama we are a BUYER BEWARE state. This means it is up to you the buyer to discover any defects. DON'T GET NERVOUS... that's why you need an agent! I will tell you when and what to do each step of the way!
Before you shut the idea of an agent down, keep in mind, there is NO COSTS to you the Buyer to have representation. If a home is listed in the Multiple Listing Service or listed with an agent, the seller has agreed to pay their Listing agent/Seller's agent, and the Buyer's agent.
Make sure next time you buy or if it's your first time buying a home...use a REALTOR with an ABR Designation!

So you have decided you are ready to buy your first home.... Now what?
